LYNN – A Lynn judge ordered a man held on bail Tuesday on charges of carrying a firearm without a license and assault with a dangerous weapon after he allegedly showed a gun to a pedestrian in front of Lynn City Hall early Tuesday.Lynn Police arrested 22-year-old Roberto Vasquez, of 60 Dow St. #57 in Salem, at around 1:30 a.m. after a 24-year-old woman said a man had showed her a hand gun as he was walking toward the Commons.A police report filed by Officer Pablo Figueroa said seven cars responded to the area of City Hall Square for a report of a suspicious person, whom the woman described as a man wearing a brown jacket and a black hat.The woman told officers that she had been outside of 78 Central Ave. smoking a cigarette when Vasquez approached her and said, “What are you looking for? What do you want?” and then grabbed her jacket and pulled a handgun from his waist, according to the report.The woman told Vasquez she didn?t have any money, at which point he returned the gun to his waist band and began to walk away. While police interviewed her, the report said, she pointed to a man matching that description and said, “There he goes, that?s him walking down there.”Police found the man, who did turn out to be Vasquez, and located his handgun, a Smith and Wesson .357 Magnum, according to the report, which was fully loaded. Vasquez told officers he did not have a license to carry the gun.Vasquez was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possessing ammunition without an FID card and assault with a dangerous weapon.
