MARBLEHEAD – The court-ordered demolition of Wayne Johnson?s $1 million Bubier Road home is on schedule for Friday, Feb. 17, the deadline set by Boston Land Court Judge Keith Long. That was the outcome of a Monday afternoon telephone conference that included Judge Long, Johnson and the lawyers in the 16-year court battle that ended with November?s demolition order. The house at 74 Bubier Road is scheduled to be demolished by S and T Frotton Inc. of Dracut. Dr. John and Dr. Ruth Schey, Johnson?s next-door neighbors, fought the construction of the house in town board meetings and in court since 1994, claiming that the structure blocked their view of the harbor. Attorney David Noonan of Amherst represented Johnson, who is 73, before Judge Long, and he and Johnson told the court that Johnson has signed a lease on an apartment in Salem, starting Feb. 7.Attorney Frank McElroy, who represents the Scheys, said Monday that, “There don?t seem to be any issues and this was a useful conversation.”?The only thing that could change the Feb. 17 date is the weather and if there is a storm the counsel and the parties are to make that known to the court,” McElroy said.McElroy said the Scheys have no comment on the matter, per his instructions. Johnson could not be reached for comment.
