SAUGUS – Crews from the Saugus Department of Public Works are preparing to close at least one lane on Route 1 North near Kowloon to fix a water main break, according DPW Director Joe Attubato.Attubato said the break occurred around 1 p.m. and said he’s in the process of organizing a police detail and setting up a repair crew to fix broken pipe.He said he’s not sure what time the road will close but said he expected closures to last for most of the day.?Traffic is going to be horrendous,” Attubato said.While Route 1 is known for its frequent water main breaks, this is the first one since September.Stay tuned to www.itemlive.com for updates, including traffic and commuter updates.
