SAUGUS – Saugus Police are investigating a robbery that occurred at Eastern Bank on Broadway Friday afternoon, the second bank robbery to occur there in as many weeks.Police said a clean-shaven white male wearing a black baseball cap with a red rim and an “A” on it passed a note to a teller at Eastern Bank, 605 Broadway, at approximately 1:40 p.m. Friday.He didn’t show any weapon, police said, and the man headed in an unknown direction after leaving the bank.Eastern Bank on Broadway was also the site of an evening rush hour bank robbery last week, which Saugus Police said occurred at about 6:25 p.m. Jan. 19.Cyrus Moulton can be reached at [email protected].
