SWAMPSCOTT – A Swampscott man pleaded guilty in Salem Superior Court Wednesday to four counts of rape and three counts of providing alcohol to minors, and will serve up to seven years in state prison, according to the Essex District Attorney?s office.Judge John T. Lu sentenced Robert V. Kincaid, 40, to no less than six and no more than seven years in prison during a hearing in Salem Superior Court. Following his jail time, Lu ordered five years of probation during which Kincaid must complete a sex offender treatment program, said Essex District Attorney spokesperson Carrie Kimball Monahan.Kincaid admitted to raping two 14-year-old girls and providing alcohol to those two girls and another girl over a period of eight months in 2009 and 2010 at his home at 55 Berkshire St. in Swampscott.Kincaid must also complete a substance abuse evaluation, have no unsupervised contact with children under 14 years old and have no contact with the victims as part of his probation, according to court records. He must also register as a sex offender.During the hearing, Assistant District Attorney Michael Sheehan praised the work of the Swampscott Police Department, particularly Detectives Ted Delano and Tim Cassidy, and Essex District Attorney?s Office victim witness advocate Theresa Gay, Monahan said.
