Peabody steals the show at the Reggie Lewis Center

The Peabody boys and girls track teams stole the show at the Northeastern Conference Championships, as the Tanner boys won with a score of 112 and the Tanner girls tied with Beverly, 76.50-76.50, at the Reggie Lewis Center Thursday night.The Peabody girls were led by Catarina Rocha in the 2-mile. Rocha finished first overall (10:54.94), and her time was over a minute better then the second place finisher. Sarah Kelley of Swampscott finished first overall in the mile (5:21). Saffie Bangura of Classical finished second overall in the 55-meter hurdles (7.66).Complete results of the NEC championship meet are as follows:Racquel MacDonald, Revere, first in 55-meter hurdles (9.12); Kristen O’Connor, Beverly, second in hurdles (9.68); Vy Le, Swampscott, third in hurdles (9.68); Katie Pietrini, Beverly, first overall in 55-meter dash (7.45); Xanthi Pantazelos, Danvers, third in dash (7.71); Madeline Piela, Marblehead, second in mile (5:26.91); Sam Allen, Peabody, third in the mile (5:31.44); Heather MacLean, Peabody, first in 300 meters (42.57); Caitlin Harty, Beverly, second in 300 (42.72); Bianca Giacalone, Gloucester, third in 300 (42.78); Maura Tubridy, Marblehead, first in 600 meters (1:42.21); Emma Walsh, Swampscott, second in 600 (1:42.84); Sarah May, Peabody, third in 600 (1:42.87); Catalina Dominick, Danvers, first in 1,000 meters (3:07.83); Paige Ferrucci, Marblehead, second in 1,000 (3:09.58); Alison Carr, Swampscott, third in 1,000 (3:10.92); Janaya Randall, Marblehead, second in 2-mile (12:16.08); Antonia Pagliuca, Peabody, third in 2-mile (12:28.28); Lily Cummings, Marblehead, first in high jump (5-0); Kelly Roland, Marblehead, second in high jump (4-10); Ashley Brooks, Danvers, third in high jump (4-10); Olivia Vener, Marblehead, first in long jump (15-02); Mary Dixon, Saugus, second in long jump (15-01); Breana Evans, Saugus, third in long jump (13-10); Pamela Zabala, Peabody, first in shot put (34-03.25); Melinda Wilson, Swampscott, second in shot (32-09) and Samantha DiBella, Danvers, third in shot (32-00.50).For the boys, Peabody’s Zachary Grube led the Tanners. Grube was a double winner. He took first overall in the 55-meter hurdles (7.94) and high jump (6-04). Peabody’s Nick Christensen continued his great success at 1,000 meters (2:33.88, first overall).
