LYNN – The parents of twin 9-year-old boys say an innocent attempt by one of their sons to commemorate his 200th goal scored led to a tirade by the boys? coach and the twins? suspension from the Lynn Youth Hockey League. The parents, Holly and Bill Foglietta, who are both Lynn natives, say their sons? coach, Bill Norcross of Lynn, screamed at one of their twin sons, Austin, when he realized the boy had received permission from the referee to keep the puck he had scored his 200th goal with.?He said, ?ridiculous, ridiculous, that?s the most selfish thing I?ve ever seen,?” Bill Foglietta said during an interview about the incident in his Salem home. “He took the puck away from Austin and threw it back on the ice. He broke my son?s heart and he did it publicly. It just tore me up inside.”Sitting next to his twin brother William in their home Tuesday, Austin Foglietta said he felt “shocked and then I started to get scared,” when Norcross allegedly yelled at him.?He (Norcross) was looking at me and yelling at me,” Austin Foglietta said. But the boys? coach and an assistant coach, Kevin Cassidy, said the incident simply did not happen as the parents allege. They say Holly Foglietta is an overbearing hockey mother who has at times tried to interfere with the way the coaches run the team, and who by making false allegations created a situation where lawyers are now representing people on both sides of the dispute.Norcross, who vehemently denied the allegations during an interview at the Daily Item on Wednesday, attended by his attorney Kevin Foley of Salem, said he never raised his voice during the incident, nor did he throw a bag of pucks at or near Austin?s twin brother, as the Fogliettas also claim.?I?m upset, they made serious allegations against me that aren?t true,” Norcross said. “This has hurt my family. My son has been teased about this.”Norcross acknowledged he believed what Austin Foglietta did violated the team emphasis that he preaches to the kids, and showed up the other team, who lost the game.?The referee said the game is being held up because he (Austin) asked for the puck,” Norcross said. “I looked at him and said, ?Are you serious?? I thought it was embarrassing to us as a team.”A contentious history?Norcross also said Holly Foglietta has tried to interfere with the way he runs the team in the past, and showed an e-mail conversation the two had on Oct. 21, 2011 when Austin Foglietta was asked to play defense when he typically plays offense. In the e-mail she sent to him, Holly Foglietta states, “My email was not meant to spark that attitude I got from you Coach Norcross ? You are very aware that Austin has never played any other position in his short hockey career and my point was that if 2 or 3 do it, ALL should do it and I was making sure it wasn?t a permanent thing (because then Austin would be very unhappy) and then I might have to ask the league for a refund and find another league for the boys to play in.!”Norcross responds in part in his e-mail by stating, “If Austin or any other child on our team is unhappy about being asked to play a position for the good of the team, then I suggest we check with some of the other Squirt teams to see if they will take a child that will only play a position that he wants to.”Cassidy, the assistant coach of the team, said he attended the Jan. 21 game in Tewksbury, and is adamant that neither Norcross nor any other adult yelled at Austin Foglietta when the referee came over to the bench and asked for a puck to replace the one that Austin Foglietta had used to score his 200th goal.Cassidy, like other league officials, places the blame for the twins not being able to play hockey on Holly Foglietta.?This isn?t about what the kids did,” Cassidy said Wednesday. “The kids aren?t being punished for what the kids did, this is about what she did.”Cassidy claims the Fogliettas fabricated the story because they want their kids to be able to play in the league.?It took seven or eight seconds ?
