LYNN – A Lynn man who police say was beating his wife on the sidewalk, and faced default warrants for drug charges and a charge of assault and battery on a child, was ordered held on $3,000 cash bail in Lynn District Court Friday.Shawn E. Bradley, 24, of 18 Tucker St. #1, was arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, to wit cement curbing, disguise to obstruct justice by giving a false name to police, use of a motor vehicle without authority and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.Court records also show that Bradley was also in default on warrants from Lawrence and Dorchester District Courts. He defaulted on charges of assault and battery on a child in Lawrence, after police responded to an incident in that city on Nov. 1, 2010.Prosecutors from Essex County District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett’s office requested $7,500 cash bail and to revoke the bail on the Lawrence charge. Judge Ellen Flatley denied the bail revocation and ordered Bradley held on $3,000 cash bail at his arraignment Friday.According to a report by North Andover Police Patrolman John McEvoy, officers found a woman and a child with a bloody nose who stated that Bradley choked him and then smashed his face into the couch after the woman and Bradley got into a fight.Lynn Police responded Thursday to a Grant Street address and found a woman who identified herself as Bradley’s wife “visibly shaking and crying” who yelled out “he took my car,” according to a report by Officer Giovanni Lopez. The woman told police she had moved out of the Tucker Street home but returned to pick up documents when Bradley had woken up in a “bad mood,” according to the report.”The victim said Bradley started to put his fists in her face and she became scared,” the report says. She told police she fled the house but Bradley chased her. “Bradley caught up to her on Grant Street and slammed her on the sidewalk and then grabbed her by the hair and started to drag her.”But a witness told police he saw the woman screaming for help and yelled at Bradley, causing him to flee the area, according to the report. Bradley returned to the scene driving the woman’s car, according to the report.”The victim said Bradley stated, ‘really, you called the cops,” the report says. “An unknown female who was there said, ‘no I called the police” to Bradley.Officers stopped the car on Cook Street and arrested Bradley, according to the report.Bradley is scheduled to return to court on March 8 for a pretrial hearing, according to court documents.Cyrus Moulton can be reached at [email protected].
