SWAMPSCOTT – The Swampscott Town Administrator’s Search Committee will present several candidates for the town’s top job in a report by the end of next week, according to the committee co-chair.”We will submit a report summarizing the screening process and recommendations and submit it early next week,” said Adam Forman , the co-chair of the search committee said Tuesday afternoon. Forman declined to name the “three or four” finalists until after the report is submitted as public record. “It will be in between the selectmen’s meetings but will give them time to schedule interviews with the candidates before their next regularly scheduled meeting.”The search committee formed in November after former Town Administrator Andrew Maylor announced he was leaving in December to become town manager of North Andover. The search committee was tentatively scheduled to present their recommendation of finalists to the Selectmen Wednesday night.Forman said that the “market was competitive” for town administrators, however, with several towns in the area concurrently searching for similar positions – including some of the candidates evaluated by the Swampscott committee. But he predicted the selectmen and town would be pleased with the committee’s recommendations.”We are forwarding, we think, very qualified candidates,” Forman said.Cyrus Moulton can be reached at [email protected].
