SAUGUS – Saugus Police teamed up with the Federal Bureau of Investigation to arrest a Medford man in connection with a pair of bank robberies in Saugus.Police arrested Nicholas Ciccolo, 32, in Medford and charged him with two counts of unarmed bank robbery stemming from two robberies at the Eastern Bank at 605 Broadway that occurred on Jan. 19 and Jan. 27.Lt. Ronald Giorgetti said Saugus Det. James Donovan worked with the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force in the arrest, and said Ciccolo was identified through bank surveillance video.?We sought and currently have warrants for Mr. Ciccolo, who?s being held not only on those warrants but also for an armed robbery in Peabody,” said Giorgetti.According to a press release from the FBI, the arrest was a result of a joint investigation by the Arlington, Malden and Cambridge police departments along with the FBI?s Violent Crimes Task Force, which is composed of police from Saugus, Malden, Somerville, Boston, Massachusetts State Police and the FBI.Matt Tempesta can be reached at [email protected].
