Grand finale for elementary tournament

The Lynn Elementary Basketball Tournament concluded with championship games this past weekend.Click here for a photo gallery.Additionally, one player from each winning team was awarded the 2012 Tournament MVP for their division.Results are as follows:In Game 1 Division 1 Girls, Ford defeated Ingalls, 14-9. Ford high scorers were Mashayla Joh (MVP, 6 points) and Alyssa Nop (6). Ingalls’ high scorer was Desmaris HerreraIn Game 2, Division 1 Boys, Ingalls defeated Connery 33-30. This was a game that pitted Ingalls coach Pati Kane against her brother, Connery coach Steve Kane.Ingalls high scorers were Jack Rodriguez (MVP, 17) and David Barrios (14). Connery’s high scorer was Rayomd Ramirez (12).In Game 3, Division 2 Girls, it was Drewicz over Sisson, 21-15. Drewicz high scorers were Emely Sanchez (MVP, 11) and Cyriah Thomas (6). Sisson high scorers were Madison Peterson (8) and Abigail Morris (4).In Game 4, Division 2 Boys, Callahan defeated Sisson in a thriller, 29-26. Each squad entered the game unbeaten. Callahan ended up not only completing an undefeated season, but also wrapping up its first boys basketball championship in school history.Callahan’s high scorer was Dyrrell Rucker (MVP, 19) and Sisson’s high scorer was Jeffrey Barbosa (15).In Game 5, Division 3 Girls, it was Lincoln-Thomson using tough defense to defeat Lynn Woods, 19-10. Lynn Woods dealt with foul trouble early.Lincoln-Thomson high scorers were Urzula Nonon (8) and Angelica Crispin (MVP, 7). Lynn Woods’ high scorer was Amanda Wilkins (8).In Game 6, Division 3 Boys, Sewell-Anderson edged Aborn 28-25. In this, the last game of the tourney, there were a 2012 record nine 3-pointers.Sewell-Anderson high scorers were Colin Reddy (MVP, 10) and Emilio Ferrand (9, all on 3-pointers in the second half).
