An undercover officer called Diaz on April 5 and inquired about purchasing “brown,” a street name for heroin, from him, and he agreed, the report said.Officers conducting surveillance saw Diaz enter the undercover officer?s vehicle and provide the officer heroin he had been hiding under a baseball hat in exchange for $100, according to the report. Diaz then had the officer drop him off at a Richdale convenience store on Broadway. The Drug Task Force conducted two more “controlled buys” on April 9 and April 10, when they arrested Diaz outside of the Richdale store around 3 p.m.At the time of his arrest, Diaz denied possessing illegal drugs at his home, but officers executing a search warrant seized more than 40 grams of heroin and several digital scales from Diaz?s residence, according to the report.Taylor Provost can be reached at [email protected].
