Charges dismissed for 8 arrested in park

LYNN – The trespassing charges of eight people arrested Tuesday for congregating in a city park well after it had closed will be dismissed upon payment to Lynn District Court in the form of 20 hours of community service to be served by May 21, according to Lynn District Court records.Judge Stacey Fortes-White dismissed the charges for the following individuals: Nicky Sok, 19, of 526 Summer St.; Savoeun Seam, 24, of 2 Hart St.; Jesse Than-Negeth, 20, of 522 Summer St.; Bophann Pech, 19, of 14 Oak St.; Christina Horm, 17, of 98 Warren St.; Daniel Pesa, 23, of 8 Morrill Place; Brian Houde, 21, of 43 Wilfred St. and Zachary Osborne, 22, of 27 Sadler St.Officers of the Lynn Special Investigations Unit made the arrests Tuesday morning around 2 a.m. after a routine check of the Great Woods Road entrance to Lynn Woods found a group of people congregated around three vehicles in the parking lot, according to a Lynn Police incident report.Police detected the odor of alcohol on the breath of several individuals, and saw several bottles of open malt liquor bottles in the rear of one of the cars, the report said. Erickson Dao, 19, of 26 Rainbow Terrace, Salem, admitted to driving the car containing the alcohol, and was arrested and charged with being a minor in possession of alcohol and two park rule violations.Police then arrested Dao?s companions and charged them with being in the park after hours, and as they took them into custody, they observed two more men, Osborne and Houde, exit the woods into the parking lot. They arrested and charged them with violating park rules as well, the report said.Fortes-White ordered Dao released on personal recognizance Thursday and set a pre-trial hearing date of June 4. Tinh Pich, 19, of 47 Autumn St. and Dante Holcombe, 17, of 13 Relay St., whose charges were not dismissed, were also given a pre-trial hearing date of June 4.Taylor Provost can be reached at [email protected].
