BOSTON – Boston Police have released surveillance video of what they say may be four Lynn men connected to the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Army veteran Stephen Perez.Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying four men the surveillance video shows descending a Boston parking lot ramp in a hurry, according to a Boston Police press release. They believe the men have a connection to Lynn but the press release doesn’t elaborate on the reason. Boston Police Officer James Kenneally said Sunday he “would imagine” Lynn Police are providing assistance with the investigation. “I’m not sure if we’ve asked them, but I’m sure assistance would be provided,” Kenneally said.Lynn Police spokesperson Lt. Christopher Kelly said he did not know of any Lynn Police currently investigating the incident and did not know the details of the possible Lynn connection.Perez, a Revere High graduate, was shot and killed outside a downtown Boston club the early morning hours of Saturday, April 28, according to Boston police and Rob Marston, the husband of Perez’s cousin. He joined the Army after graduating high school, where he was trained as a sniper and deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, Marston said.Perez’s family laid him to rest Friday in a procession that drew thousands.Boston detectives are also asking to speak to people who were in the area of Tremont Street and Stuart Street between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. on April 27 and 28, when Perez was shot.Kenneally said Boston detectives had not released whether anyone had come forward with information since the release of the video.”They haven’t told us what level of cooperation they’ve had. Hopefully people have come forward and can help us out,” he said.Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the Homicide Unit at 617-343-4470.Anonymous information can be sent to the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1-(800) 494-TIPS or text the word ?TIP’ to CRIME (27463). The Boston Police Department will protect the identities of those who wish to remain anonymous.Amber Parcher can be reached at [email protected] Provost can be reached at [email protected].
