LYNNFIELD – The Lynnfield Senior Center will be holding one of its major fundraising events on Saturday: an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast at the town?s 99 restaurant.Senior Center Director Linda Naccara said this is the fifth year the annual event has been held, and each year the 150 tickets available for the event have sold out. Tickets are $5 and must be purchased in advance at the senior center at 525 Salem St.The senior center collects between $700 and $800 from the fundraiser, Naccara said. The money goes to the Friends of the Lynnfield Senior Center, she said, who plan fundraising events throughout the year to pay for items and services at the senior center, such as the hair salon, the computer lab, tables and chairs, and window treatments.?They really keep the senior center physically beautiful and updated for us,” Naccara said.Naccara said the breakfast, which is open to all ages and goes from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., makes for a social and fun morning.?We need to be out of there by 10, but nobody wants to leave,” she said.Pauline Finberg, the head of the Friends of the Lynnfield Senior Center, first set up the relationship with 99 restaurant management five years ago after the idea for a pancake breakfast fundraiser came up in a brainstorming session, Naccara said.In addition, Naccara said the restaurant donates all the food, and its wait staff, and cooks donate their time.?They?re really very community-spirited,” she said. The restaurant is located at 317 Salem St.Sarah Mupo can be reached at [email protected].
