It took a little longer than usual, but the St. Mary’s softball team won a two-day marathon of a game, 12-8, against Arlington Catholic in Arlington.Abby Caggiano was the offensive star for St. Mary’s, going 3-for-3 with two home runs and four RBI. Alexandra Fisher had two hits and three RBI to help the cause along. Brooke L’Abbe fanned five for the win and went 3-for-4 with an RBI. St. Mary’s is 11-3.Lynnfield 16, Manchester-Essex 3At Manchester-Essex, the visiting Pioneers (11-5) cruised to an easy victory behind starter Jackie Whelan (6 strikeouts) who improved her own record to 4-1. Lynnfield stroked five extra base hits in the contest, and remains one game behind North Reading in the chase for the Cape Ann League title.Mystic Valley 16, Tech 4At Tech, Ryce Colon had two doubles and three RBI for the Tigers. She also caught a smoking line drive on the mound. Yeriania Castro had a double and an RBI. Colon pitched most of the game with Castro helping out.
