LYNN – A Lynn woman on trial for allegedly assaulting a Saugus Police officer testified this morning the officer threw her to the ground during an incident in August while placing her under arrest, causing injuries that prompted her to go to the emergency room.”I felt his whole weight on me,” Debora Merida, 32, told the jury. “I was in shock.”Merida is charged with pushing Saugus Police officer Matthew Donahue after she stopped to help a friend from church he had pulled over, who she knew did not speak English.Merida also denied pushing Donahue.Read the complete story in Wednesday’s Daily Item.
