St. Mary’s high school lacrosse goalie Kyle Torosian remains in the hospital several days after sustaining a serious injury in his team’s last game of the season in its final minutes. Torosian was struck in the head by an incoming shot while defending his net Tuesday night and was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital.”He was in fair condition Tuesday morning, and is doing even better today,” said St. Mary’s athletic director Jeff Newhall in a brief call Wednesday evening.According to Mass General spokesperson Ryan Donovan, “fair condition” means Torosian was conscious, but may have been uncomfortable, with stable vital signs within normal limits and favorable indicators. The game was stopped for nearly 45 minutes as the on-site trainer and emergency personnel attended to the goaltender. Torosian is finishing up his junior year at St. Mary’s.
