LYNN – Two men identified in a police report as Hells Angels motorcycle club members are scheduled to return to court in June to face assault charges after a police officer wrote in a report that one of them drove a motorcycle at a former club member who “has since fallen from grace with the club.”Christopher Sweeney, 41, of 74 Robinson St., pleaded innocent to two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and reckless operation of a motor vehicle in District Court on May 25, two days after Daniel Clemens Jr. called officers to his 44 Cliff St. home and told them Sweeney came “speeding” down Cliff Street shortly after 8 p.m. on a motorcycle.? ?. Mr. Sweeney drove straight at him (Clemens) forcing him to jump out of the path of Mr. Sweeney?s motorcycle,” Officer Ralph Sirois Jr. wrote in his report.The report states that Sweeney reversed direction and rode his motorcycle onto the sidewalk, forcing Clemens, 44, and his wife, Teresa, 43, ” ? to run from the path of the motorcycle.”Clemens told Sirois he drove with his wife down Cliff Street toward Walnut Street and found his way blocked by a pickup truck driven by Lynn resident Michael Ross Jr. Clemens told Sirois that Ross and the car?s passenger, who Clemens identified as Terrence St. Ives, laughed at Clemens and his wife as Sweeney rode up to the couple.?Mr. Clemens stated that both Ross and St. Ives were pointing (in) the direction of he and his wife and were laugh-ing at them as again Mr. Swee-ney pulled up on his motorcycle and showed them both a ball peen-style hammer and motioned with his arm in a fashion that Mr. Clemens thoughts meant for him to exit his vehicle and come to Sweeney,” Sirois wrote in his report.Sirois stated Clemens has faced “numerous attacks” and had his car firebombed in front of his home “in the middle of the night.” Sirois noted in his report that arrests have been made in connection with the attacks, but the report does not indicate if anyone was arrested for the firebombing.The report identifies St. Ives as “an active member of the Hells Angel motorcycle club.” Police issued arrest warrants on May 23 for St. Ives and Ross, Sirois wrote, ” ? due to the fact that they were present and clearly operating in an assistance to Chris Sweeney?s actions against Mr. Clemens.”According to court records, St. Ives, 54, of 386C Walnut St., and Ross, 61, of 59 West Sigourney St., turned themselves into police on May 25 and were arraigned on Wednesday on assault with a dangerous weapon charges.They both pleaded innocent to the charges and Judge Ellen Flatley set $1,000 personal recognizance for each man and ordered them to return to court on June 25.Thor Jourgensen can be reached at [email protected].
