SALEM – The backseat of Miguel Segura’s vehicle was covered in blood when a Swampscott patrolman found it crashed and abandoned outside a Lynn playground, the officer testified in Superior Court this morning.?The engine was still running,” Swampscott Police officer Saverio Caruso testified this morning. “I walked up to make sure no one was inside?and observed blood on the headrests and a large amounts in the back seat.”Brian Rivera, 23, and Luis Espinosa, 31, both of Lynn, are on trial in Salem Superior Court for the alleged robbery, carjacking and armed assault of Segura on the night of Dec. 22, 2008.Segura, a Lynn resident, testified Monday that the men flagged him down for a ride, and then robbed, threatened and beat him in the head with a gun before he managed to exit the car on a residential road in Swampscott.
