MARBLEHEAD – The Marblehead Open Space Committee met Monday, June 18 at 2 p.m. in the Selectman?s Room at Abbot Hall to discuss the final preparations that need to be made for the Open Space and Recreation action plan.According to Town Planner Rebacca Curran, the plan is a series of actions that will be put into effect by the Conservancy and the Parks and Recreation Department. It was drafted after 60 groups in Marblehead were surveyed asking what they think the town needs to do in the next seven years.Some examples of answers were as specific as fixing the bathrooms at Gatchell Playground and as broad as demanding more education on land conservation.Curran said after the plans are approved, they will be completed gradually over the next seven years.The plan?s draft will be completed and sent to the state June 30, after a presentation to the Marblehead selectmen on June 27.Kait Taylor can be reached at [email protected].
