LYNN – Marblehead Police charged a Lynn man Monday with unarmed robbery after he allegedly broke into a woman?s Washington Street home, stole a laptop and then assaulted her, according to a police report.A 63-year-old Marblehead resident told police she was asleep in her Washington Street home around 3:30 a.m. Monday when she was awoken by a man, later identified as Sean Delangis, 22, standing over her bed and tapping on her arm.?She thought he might try to kill her so she grabbed him and they began to wrestle on the floor,” Officer Dan Katz wrote in his report. Delangis broke loose and ran downstairs into the woman?s dining room, where he attempted to escape through the door but couldn?t. He then ran to the family room and broke a window and fled, according to the report.Officers located Delangis at a 7-Eleven nearby, after noticing a man fitting the burglar?s description with his arms covered in blood. Delangis told police the blood was from his martial arts training.Police believe Delangis entered the home through an unlocked back door. A CD player and $2 bill he allegedly took from the home were recovered, but police have not located a Toshiba laptop the victim reported missing. The woman was bruised, but not injured, according to the arrest report.Judge Albert Conlon ordered Delangis held on $2,500 cash bail in District Court Monday on charges of larceny over $250, unarmed burglary with assault, assault and battery on a person older than 60, malicious destruction of property over $250 and larceny under $250.A second man, Cody Farris, was charged with unarmed robbery after police determined he had been acting as a “lookout” for Delangis. Conlon ordered him held on $500 bail. Both men are due back in court July 21.Taylor Provost can be reached at [email protected].
