SAUGUS – A Lynn man is in jail pending a dangerousness hearing after he was arrested following a violent altercation with his girlfriend, according to police reports.Timothy Chheang, 21, of 109 Hillingsworth St., #2, was arrested Thursday morning and charged with assault and battery, kidnapping, malicious damage to a motor vehicle, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of property damage.According to a report from Lynn District Court, Chheang’s girlfriend told police she found out he was cheating on her while she was away on vacation so she came home early to talk to him about it.While at Salem Willows, the report states his girlfriend did not believe him after a few hours of talking, and Chheang became enraged when she wanted to leave and “pulled her hair a couple of times,” according to the report.The two then drove to Barry Park where the report states Chheang tried having sex with her and when she would not, the report states Chheang bit her two or three times on the leg. The report states that Chheang then got out of the car and “smashed the window with his fist” when his girlfriend did not believe him.The report states the two then drove to Chheang’s stepmother’s house where he “physically blocked the door and made her stay there.” After they got into the car again, the report states Chheang’s girlfriend jumped out of the car and tried to hop a fence. However, the report states Chheang “got out of the car and angrily slammed the driver’s door so hard that the window smashed.”According to the report, Chheang then grabbed the woman from the fence and “threw her to the ground,” then “wrestled her into the car and threw her in the passenger side,” said the report.The report states that Chheang then put the car in reverse and “floored it,” slamming into a car parked behind him. Chheang then fled back into his house, said the report.Police responded and arrested Chheang without incident, according to the report.Chheang is due back in court July 17.Matt Tempesta can be reached at [email protected].
