BROCKTON – Sparked by a three-run bottom of the ninth inning, the Brockton Rox set down the North Shore Navigators by a final score of 8-7 Friday night at Campanelli Stadium. The Navigators had won two in row before losing tonight. They return home for a two game homestand beginning Sunday.The Navigators scored the go-ahead run in the top of the sixth inning as third baseman Ryan Muno drove in right fielder Brad Elwood with an RBI single to right field to place North Shore up by a 6-0 score near the midpoint of the contest.Outfielder Alex Markakis and first baseman Rob Krentzman opened the top of the third inning with singles to begin the five-run frame. A sacrifice bunt by catcher Brett Cahill preceded a two-run double by right fielder Brad Elwood, driving in both baserunners with the first runs of the game for either side. Muno later drove in Elwood, who stole third base earlier in the inning, with an RBI single to increase the lead to 3-0.Designated hitter Aaron Silbar, who walked prior to Muno’s single, later came around to score the Navigators’ fourth run following a sacrifice fly by second baseman Andrew Harris. Center fielder Tony Serino later singled to left field, driving in Muno with the fifth run of the stanza.Despite the Rox scoring five runs in the sixth and seventh innings, the Navigators added insurance in the eighth inning of the game. With the bases loaded, Harris grounded out to second base with less than two outs, scoring Elwood with the Navigators’ seventh run of the game.After tacking on another run in the top of the 8th the Navigators took a 8-6 lead going into the bottom of the 9th. Navigator’s manager Richie Hebner then turned the ball over to closer Josh Michalec.
