LYNN?The Lynn All-City Basketball League is set for postseason play after three games were played Friday to wrap up the regular season.In the latter of the three contests, Keandre Stanton scored 39 points to lead the Thunder (3-1) to an easy 94-61 win over the winless Pacers (0-4). Jake Fay chipped in with 16 points for the Thunder while the Pacers’ Mike Duarte (26) and Randy Curteon (13) played admirably in the loss.With a playoff spot hanging in the balance, the Heat defeated the Suns in the middle game, 104-71. Freddy Hogan Jr. (35) and Corey Bingham (27) combined for 62 points for the Heat while LaShaunda Hogan added 14.The Suns got 15 points apiece from B-Jay Baptiste and Kevin Carter in the losing effort. The Heat finished the regular season at 2-2, while the Suns ended up at 1-3.The opening game of the day featured a game high 31-point performance from Trey Gallo as his Bulls (3-1) went on to defeat the Celtics 99-74. Gerrard Fairweather had 20 points in the wining effort while the Celtics got 20 points from Ryan Salvador and 13 points from Ronnie Williams.Friday’s opening round of the four-team playoff will see the Celtics and Heat clash at 6 p.m., before the Bulls and Thunder fight for a spot in the championship (7). A consolation game between the Suns and Pacers will be played at 5 p.m.The Lynn Parks and Recreation Summer Evening Basketball League playoffs got under way on Thursday with two games being played in each of the three age groups.In the high school division, Councilor Rick Ford defeated Lazy Dog 71-65. Stanton led the way for the victors with 19 points while Steven Collins led the way for Lazy Dog with 25 points.Game two saw NRT Bus Inc. defeat Solimine Funeral Homes by a score of 83-66. NRT’s Kwame Johnson had a game high 30 points while Solimine got 29 points from Anthony Silfa in the loss. NRT plays Councilor Rick Forc in the East Lynn Championship on Wednesday.The middle school divisions opening game saw Meninno Construction defeat Lynn Firefighters 67-43. Jonathan Mercado scored 23 points to pace the Meninno offense.In game two, John’s Oil advanced to the championship with a 76-42 victory over Columbia Insurance. Anthony Silfa led the way with 25 points for the winners while Melvin Nieves scored 17 points for Columbia. John’s Oil will face Meninno Construction in Wednesday’s finals.In game one of the grammar school division, the Knights of Columbus, led by Jack Rodriguez’s eight points, defeated Neal A. Price, 28-24. Josh Lopez and Eliezer Quinones each scored six points for Price.Game two saw Lynn Housing Authority’s J’Zon Anderson score 11 points in a 48-9 victory over Camp Lion. Craig Collins led Camp Lion offensively with nine points. The Knights of Columbus and Lynn Housing Authority play for the championship on Wednesday.
