Golf: Revere sinks Salem

The Revere High golf team hasn’t enjoyed much success against Salem over the years, but the tide turned Tuesday with a 38 1/2-33 1/2 win over the Witches at Cedar Glen Golf Course.Salem’s Tim Richmond won at No. 1, 5-4; Kyle Doherty at No. 4, 5 1/2-3 1/2, and Madison Ballou, 6-3, at No. 5. Revere’s No. 2, Mark Maloney, won 5 1/2 to 3 1/2. The Patriots also had nice wins from Brett Deukmejian at No. 7 and Jason Seigal at eight.Marblehead 52 1/2, Winthrop 19 1/2At Tedesco Country Club, the Magicians (4-0-1) got the job done on wins by Connor Green at No. 1, Patch Riley at No. 2., Owen Picariello at No. 3 and Trevor Jones at No. 4; Picariello fired a 37 and Jones a 38.Beverly 52, English 20At Beverly Golf & Tennis, the Bulldogs (0-2) had excellent play from Matt Sencabaugh, who shot a 36 but lost to Beverly’s Kevin Dyer in the top spot, 5-4. At No. 2, English’s Matt Bruno shot a 43 on the back nine, but lost 5-4 to Sam Shorr. Bubba Comeau lost by one to Jay Richardson at No. 8, 5-4.Beverly’s other wins came from Seamus Desmond at No. 2, 5 1/2-3 1/2; Dustin Dube at No. 4, 8-1; Josh Cairns at No. 5, 7 1/2-1 1/2; Ted Leathersich at No. 6, 7-2; and Chris Sinclair at No. 7, 9-0.Peabody 52 1/2, Classical 19 1/2At Salem Country Club, the Rams took one on the chin despite solid play from Eric Brazell, Brett Erelli, Mark Brazell and Mac St. Ives. Peabody had strong showings from Steve Ferrante, 7 1/2-1 1/2, at No. 4; Matt McIsaac, 7 1/2-1 1/2 at No. 5 and James Greaves at seven, 6-3. Peabody is 2-1.St. John’s 235, Xaverian 244At Shrewsbury, St. John’s (2-0) got a boost from Swampscott native Steven Dilisio, a four-time junior champion, and Josh Wingardner, who each shot a 37. Freshman James Turner was close behind with a score of 38, while Jeff O’Connor turned in a score of 39.Saugus 40, Gloucester 32At Gloucester, the Sachems (2-1) had strong matches from Jack Furey, Ryan Virgin, and J.C.
