LYNN – The Lynn Police Drug Task Force arrested a city man and a pair of Everett men Thursday on cocaine trafficking charges after an undercover operation with the Drug Enforcement Administration, according to documents from Lynn District Court.Luis Rosa, 45, of 8 Portland St. # 1, Lynn, Felipe Moreira-Diaz, 25, of 55 Woodville St. #1, Everett and Breno Varanda-Desouza, 18, of 103 Jefferson Ave., Everett, were all arrested and charged with trafficking a class B drug (cocaine) over 18 grams on Thursday at 1:50 p.m.Rosa was also charged with two counts of distributing a class B drug, subsequent offenses, and held on $20,000 cash bail by Judge Ellen Flatley at his arraignment Friday.Moreira-Diaz posted his $5,000 bail Friday while Varanda-Desouza was held on $5,000 bail, according to court records.According to police records, the three men were arrested after an undercover DEA agent bought “an eight ball,” or 3.5 grams, of cocaine from Rosa on Oct. 15 and another two eight balls on Oct. 24.The agent contacted Rosa again Thursday saying he wanted to buy an ounce of cocaine for $1,400, said the report. The report states Varanda-Desouza drove Rosa to Tudor Street in Lynn to sell the cocaine. The report also states Moreira-Diaz was a passenger.Police arrested Rosa without incident as he was walking down Tudor Street to meet the agent, and the report states Varanda-Desouza and Moreira-Diaz attempted to flee in the car when they saw Rosa being arrested. However, the report states police blocked off the road and the two were taken into custody without incident. The report states police recovered 30.9 grams of cocaine from Rosa and a gray folding knife less than two inches. All three men are due back in court on Dec. 20.Matt Tempesta can be reached at [email protected].
