Saugus Police welcome new clerk

Matt Tempesta

December 7, 2012 by Matt Tempesta

SAUGUS – The Saugus Police Department welcomed its newest member to the administrative staff recently with the hiring of Judith Theokas as principal clerk. With about a month on the job so far, Theokas said she enjoys her new position.?I like the people,” said Theokas, who lives in Peabody. “I just like how everyone is so welcoming and works together, and wants to make Saugus excel. I?m new to Saugus, but I really like the town and the Town Hall. There?s a lot of people that want to make changes, and I?m glad that they put their confidence in me. They want to grow and I want to grow with them.”Police Chief Domenic DiMella said Theokas brings “education and experience that is ideally suited to his goals,” which is to provide “efficient and professional customer service to Saugus residents, businesses and the public at large.”Theokas holds a bachelor?s degree in business administration from Endicott College and an associate?s degree in business administration with specialization in legal procedures from Marian Court Junior College.?The Saugus Police Department has consistently encouraged and supported all staff members to seek appropriate training and education. To find a candidate for this position already in possession of advanced education is especially beneficial,” said DiMella.Theokas will be working primarily out of DiMella?s office, but said the entire staff pitches in whenever needed.?We all kind of work together,” she said. “He?s a great guy. I really like him. I?ve never known him before I got hired, but he seems to be very busy, very dedicated and I admire him. I just see he?s constantly doing things and trying to make things work, and I just look at him and want to be part of his team.”Matt Tempesta can be reached at [email protected].
