SAUGUS – Hours after a high-speed pursuit in Lynn, Saugus Police say a man fled after causing a three-car, rollover accident on Route 107 South Wednesday night that sent two people to the hospital.Lt. Ronald Giorgetti said the accident occurred at around 7:15 p.m. after a the driver of a stolen 1996 Honda Accord tried passing two cars at a “high rate of speed.”?One of the operators fled on foot,” said Giorgetti. “The vehicle was stolen in Chelsea earlier ? It appears the operator of the stolen vehicle was operating erratically at a high rate of speed and tried to pass two vehicles and he struck both vehicles causing the three-car accident.”Giorgetti said the registered owner of the car told Malden police that he allowed a friend to borrow the car, who in turn reported the car stolen.Giorgetti said a woman and a juvenile were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. No arrests have been made and police did not have a description of the suspect.?It very well could be that the vehicle was borrowed by a friend, brought to Chelsea and the vehicle was stolen,” said Giorgetti. “There’s no indication to believe otherwise, but we’ll follow up on it as we do our investigation.”
