LYNN — Lynn Police are investigating a bank robbery they say occurred at a Central Square bank this morning.
Lynn Police are looking for a white man, wearing a tan jacket and a black hat with a red rim, they believe robbed Sovereign Bank at 39 Exchange St. at about 9:25 a.m. and fled on foot, according to a press release from Lynn Lt. Chris Kelly.
Police rushed into the bank at about 9:25 a.m. and a number of cruisers and unmarked police vehicles were parked outside the building, report The Daily Item staff.
One person who was in the bank this morning told The Daily Item staff he noticed a man wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt come out of the passenger side of a vehicle and toward the bank and said the man looked “suspicious.”
Kelly said police don’t know if the man used a vehicle in the robbery.
