SAUGUS — Saugus Police said they are investigating the cause of a single-vehicle rollover accident on Main Street Sunday that sent a Boxford woman to Massachusetts General Hospital with injuries.
“There is no indication of what caused the accident at this time,” Saugus Police Lt. Ronald Giorgetti said Sunday evening. “We have no information regarding the extent of injuries or an update on the patient’s condition.”
A caller reported at 10:42 a.m. Sunday that a single vehicle had driven into a utility pole and rolled over in the area of 494 Main Street. The initial caller also reported the driver was trapped inside the vehicle, Giorgetti said. The police log entry describes the pole as damaged and National Grid and Verizon were both summoned to the scene.
Giorgetti said a woman was alone in a 2010 Subaru Outback and traveling westbound on Main Street towards Wakefield. He said it appeared the car may have also struck a parked vehicle.
Giorgetti said the woman was taken by ambulance to Massachusetts General Hospital and the incident remains under investigation.
Nobody else was reported injured in the incident, Giorgetti said.
