LYNN — Police said they are seeking a heavy-set white male suspected in the armed robbery of a Dunkin Donuts on Walnut Street Saturday evening.
“The suspect brandished a black handgun and demanded all the money,” Lynn Police Lt. Christopher Kelly said Monday. “He got an undetermined amount of cash and fled the area ”¦ we did recover the weapon used in the robbery.”
Kelly said police dispatched cars to the Dunkin Donuts on 577 Walnut St. at 7:25 p.m. Saturday after receiving a call that the store had just been robbed. He declined to give further details of the weapon recovered by police, citing an ongoing investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department. But he said the weapon was recovered in the vicinity of the robbery. Kelly said no one was hurt in the incident and there were no named suspects at this point.
