SAUGUS — Saugus Police said they are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in a robbery at the Bank of America on Route One South Tuesday afternoon.

“The suspect fled the bank with an unspecified amount of cash and there were no injuries to employees or patrons of the bank,” Saugus Police Lt. Ronald Giorgetti said Tuesday. “If there is anybody who can assist in identifying the individual we are asking them to call the Saugus Police Department.”

Giorgetti said police received a report of a robbery at the Bank of America at 1093 Broadway at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday.

He identified the suspect as a white male approximately 5-foot, 9-inches tall and weighing between 170 and 190 pounds. He said the suspect had facial hair and was wearing glasses, a Red Sox cap, blue jeans and a white zip-up sweatshirt.

Giorgetti said the suspect passed a note demanding money and threatened that he was armed but no weapon was observed.

He said the suspect fled on foot with an unspecified amount of money.

Saugus Police can be reached at 781-941-1199 or via www.sauguspd.com.
