January 15, 2013 by Sean Leonard

LYNN – Among the newest members of the Lynn Area Chamber of Commerce is Omo Idusuyi, owner of All A’s Beauty Supply and Convenience at 284 Boston St., whose success as a businesswoman is a profile in perseverance.Idusuyi emigrated from Nigeria to Lynn in 1987, and over the next decade earned a degree in human services while working full time and starting a family; she and husband Augustine have four daughters and a son, ranging in age from 10 to 24.After earning her associate degree from North Shore Community College in 1994 she worked until 2004 in human services. While she said that work was rewarding, her passion for fashion and strong entrepreneurial spirit led her to open the beauty supply shop eight years ago.A Lynn Area Chamber of Commerce ambassador team visited the shop last Thursday for a ribbon cutting to welcome the business to the organization. During that event, she took a few moments to discuss her store with The Item.”We carry skin care (products), extensions, jeans for men and women, Italian shoes for men and women. We also have traditional hats for weddings, and new, already-made suits for men and women,” Idusuyi said. She admitted she didn’t know a lot about running a business when she started.”It was hard, and really challenging at the same time raising kids, but with prayer and having God by my side, I was able to maneuver,” she said, also crediting her success to support from her husband and children: Ashley, Andrea, Ann Marie, Amanda and Augustine Jr. (hence the name All A’s).She said her customer base includes men and women of all cultures.”We have Italian shoes,” she repeated to emphasize that point. She said she is fortunate to have established her business in Lynn.”I love this city,” she said, adding she wouldn’t want to live or own a business anywhere else. For more information about All A’s Beauty Supply and Convenience, visit the shop during regular business hours or call the store at 781-598-1224.Sean Leonard can be reached at [email protected].
