Eight minutes later, Sean MacBurnie extended the Spartans’ lead when he potted a goal on a pass from Jackson Allard.”It was senior night for (Arlington Catholic), and I think we caught them off guard,” said St. Mary’s coach Mark Lee. “We came out very strong in the first.”In the second period, the talented Arlington Catholic (8-5-4) team looked to get back into the game, scoring their only goal of the contest. Instead of breaking down and potentially losing their momentum, St. Mary’s showed patience, returned to their game, and out played their hosts the rest of the night. On the evening, St. Mary’s outshot Arlington Catholic 24-20, including a 10-4 advantage in the first period.Holt had a big game for St. Mary’s (6-10-2), making 19 saves while playing with a lead the entire game.”For a team that has been on the doorstep all month, facing some tough one-goal losses, this team got a win for their hard work,” said Lee. “Tonight was a total team effort, there is no quit in this team.””This is a huge win for a team that has not had the best of luck this season,” added Lee.
