NEC names all-stars in several sports

Lynn English coach Fred Hogan took home coach of the year honors and Revere’s Gena Restiano was named most valuable player in Northeastern Conference North girls basketball all-star voting.

In the NEC South, Swampscott’s Ara Talkov was named most valuable player and Winthrop’s Ignacio Oyola received coach of the year. Beverly and Danvers received aportsmanship awards in the North and South, respectively.

NEC North All-Stars: Deidra Newson, Catherine Stinson and Diondra Woumn, English; Monta Connolly and Kristin Lauria, Classical: Alexandra Lomasney and Carolyn Scacchi, Peabody; Jackie Panneton and Rachel Zipper, Salem; Andrea Zelano, Beverly.

NEC South All Stars: are Alexa Goldman and Talkov from Swampscott; Norma Waggett, Saugus; McKenna Barrett and Emily Freedland, Marblehead; Ashelyne Babb, Temisan Meggison and Kristen Siscamanis, Winthrop; and Emily McNulty and Kasey Sherry, Danvers.

The NEC All-Star game will be held Friday at Marblehead High with the girls game at 6 p.m. and the boys at 7:30 p.m.

WRESTLING

Jake Powell of the Marblehead/Swampscott squad was named wrestler of the year in the Northeastern Conference. Beverly’s Mark Thomas received coach of the year after his team won the league championship. Peabody received the Sportsmanship Award.

TRACK

Revere boys coach Jack Mosko was named Northeastern Conference Coach of the year and Revere’s Robert Rose took home Player of the Year, in all-star voting. Gloucester received the Sportsmanship Award.

All stars: Chris Cedullo, 55-meter hurdles; Drew Fossa, 1,000; Rich Fournier, 2-mile and the 4 x 800 relay (Ben Baar, Alex Marcus, James Christopher and Connor Wolf, Peabody.

Also: Alex Ortega, English, 55-meter dash; Alex Bonitto, English, 600 meters; Alex Grecco, Beverly, mile; Omar Morales, Revere, shot put, and Ben Sattiewhite, Salem, high jump.

Also: Salem’s 4 x 200 relay (Tim Ryan, Aaron Palmer, Taran Wigfal and Jon Crimble); Revere’s 4 x 400 relay (Joe Richie, Jonny Lopes, Zach Primo and Robert Rose).

The runners-up are Karim Sahila, Revere, 55-meter high hurdles; Chris Cennami, Peabody, 55-meter dash; Riley Dowd, Peabody, mile; Jon Crimble, Salem, 300 meters; Thomas Drover, Peabody; Dylan Perry, 1,000, Beverly; Campbell Wood, Beverly, 2-mile; Harry Brown, Beverly, shot put; Tarik Maddrey, Revere, high jump, and George Clark, Classical, high jump.

In the NEC North (girls), Kristen O’Conner of Beverly was named Player of the Year and Dave Jellison, Beverly, and Sam Ros, Revere, took home co-Coach of the Year honors.

All-stars: Julianna DeVett, 55-meter high hurdles; Haley Dowd, Peabody, 55-meter dash; Julianna Wesley, Beverly, mile; Caitlin Harty, Beverly, 300-meter; Heather McLean, Peabody, 600-meter run; Lauren Barret, Peabody, 1,000 meters; Catarina Rocha, Peabody, 2-mile; 4 x 200 relay, Classical; 4 x 400, Beverly; 4 x 800 relay, Beverly; Kristen O’Connor, Beverly, high jump.

Runners up: Carla Altema, Classical, in the 55-meter high hurdles; Anna Wargo, Classical, 55-meter day; Sam Allen, Peabody, mile; Emma Hiljeh, Salem, 300-meter run; Shrapshira Madison, 600 meters, Beverly; Allison Lollin, Beverly, 1,000; Nicole Demars, Beverly, 2-mile; Nicole Kirsch, Beverly, shot put, and Kyra Richardson, Beverly, high jump. Revere won the Sportsmanship Award.

In the NEC South (girls), Melinda Wilson of Swampscott was the Player of the Year and Mike Toomey, Marblehead, was Coach of the Year. Saugus received the Sportsmanship Award.

All-Stars: Vy Le, Swampscott, 55-meter hurdles; Pantazelas Xanthi, Danvers, 55-meter dash; Anna Barrell, Marblehead, mile; Bianca Giacalone, Gloucester, 300 meters; Ashley Firth, Saugus, 300 meters; Emma Walsh, Swampscott, 600 meters; Paige Ferrucci, 1,000 meters ; Janaya Randall, Marblehead, 2-mile; Meghan Kellard, Danvers, shot put; Lily Cummings, Marblehead, high jump; Amy Sena, Winthrop, high jump.

The runners-up were Olivia Vener, Marblehead, 55-meter hurdles; Mimi Goetz, Marblehead, 55-meter dash; Tess Gorman, Swampscott, mile; Aisling Dennehy, Swampscott, 300 meters; Melinda Wilson, Swampscott, 600 meters; Kathleen Huber, Marblehead, 1,000; Elizabeth McCormack, Gloucester, shot put, and Ashley Brooks, Danvers, high jump.

In the NEC South (boys), Swampscott’s Peter Hale was named Player of the Year along with Danvers’ Drew Piazza. John Norris, Danver, took home Coach of the Year and Gloucester, the Sportsmanship Award.

All-stars: Conrad Rousseau, Marblehead, 55-meter high hurdles; John Thomas, Danvers, 55 meters; Jacob Holscher, Gloucester, mile; Josh Beloff, Marblehead, 300 meters; Matt Carpenter, Gloucester, 600 meters; Robert Seymour, Swampscott, shot put, and Connor Rollins, Danvers, high jump. Marblehead earned all-star status in the 4 x 200 relay; Gloucester in the 4 x 400 relay, and Swampscott in the 4 x 800 relay.

Runners up: Ryan Levesque, Danvers, 55-meter high hurdles; Zach Blonder, Swampscott, 55-meter dash; James Bailey, Danvers, mile; Mark Horgan, Gloucester, 300 meters; Declan McClung, Swampscott, 600 meters; Drew Piazza, Danvers, 1,000; Kevin Powers, Saugus, 1,000; Noah Mondello, Gloucester, 2-mile; Joe Manson, Danvers, shot put, and Mike Sheehan, Gloucester, high jump.
