April 20, 2013 by jdistefano

It has been one of the toughest weeks that Boston has had to deal win in history. The events that took place Friday in Boston were not only horrific enough to postpone the Bruins and Red Sox, but high school sports as well. There were five softball games and a tennis match that were postponed, due to the manhunt that has taken place in Boston. For softball: English vs. Masco; Lynnfield vs. Malden; Somerville vs. Salem; Winthrop vs. Marblehead and Medford vs. Revere. All of these games were postponed, and no makeup dates have yet to be announced. The Marblehead vs. B.C High tennis match was postponed, and will be made up on May 23rd. All of these teams took extra precaution for the safety of their players, coaches, parents, and fans. It was not safe enough to have these teams travel long distances being so close to the Boston area.
