Connor Green, Daley, John Cavolina and Brett LeBlanc had hits for the Magicians (2-4).Danvers 3, Gloucester 0At Gloucester, Danvers coach Roger Day notched his 400th career win (all at Danvers over the course of 26 years) thanks in part to a superb pitching performance by Brandon Hyde. Hyde went the distance, allowed two hits, struck out two and didn’t walk a batter. He only faced 23 batters and no one reached second base.The first two batters of the game scored for the Falcons. A.J. Couto doubled and Joe Strangie singled. Couto scored on a sacrifice fly by Ray Aroocho and Strangie on a fielder’s choice. The third run came in the sixth off a Tyler Dustin single that scored Dan Connors.St. John’s 3, Malden Catholic 1At Danvers, Justin Snyder pitched a gem of a game for the Eagles, going 6 1/3 innings, allowing one hit, one run, striking out six and walking three. Dustin Hunt got the save.Keith Leavitt tied the game at 1-1 for The Prep on a solo home run in the second inning. The Prep (8-1) added two in the third on an RBI double by Tyler Noe and an RBI single by Nick Bragole.Beverly 7, Salem 0At Salem, Alex Toomey pitched a 1-hitter for the Panthers (5-2), with 10 strikeouts.
