Bisignani: Nahant salaries ‘about average for municipal employees’

NAHANT – Town Administrator Andy Bisignani said the 2012 Nahant salaries were reflective of the responsibilities the employees take on and comparable to that of the industry.Bisignani said school, fire and police department and public works were all contractual, but that even non-contractual salaries were “about average for municipal employees.”Town Accountant Deborah Waters was the highest paid employee of 2012 in terms of regular salary at $94,874. “For the type of responsibility she makes about average for the industry,” said Bisignani. “She?s in charge of the town finances and a supervisor as well.”He added that Waters has been working for the town for 20 years and “works a lot of hours including nights and weekends.”With details and overtime, some police officers topped the list as highest paid.
