The Lynn Classical High softball team defeated Malden, 8-4, at Malden on Sunday.Four players led the way for the Rams (8-4) at the plate: Franki Galeazzi (2-4, 2 runs); Ally Dunnigan (2-4, 1 run, 3 RBI); Jillian Strileckis (2-4, 1 run); and Shannon Magner (1-3, 1 run). Coach Chris Warren also credited Strileckis with solid play in left field.Ivy Martin pitched six innings, walking three, striking out one and allowing one earned run.The Rams were without three starters, Danielle Moran, Samantha Earp and Bobbie Dee Regan, due to what Warren said was a “school-related issue,” resulting in a five-day suspension from school.Warren noted that despite the absences, “our kids did step up and played a great game.”Rich Tenorio can be reached at [email protected].
