Lynn man faces drug, weapons charges following police, FBI raid

LYNN – A Lynn man is in jail after a raid by federal and local police turned up guns and drugs in a city apartment, according to records from Lynn District Court.Members of the Lynn police gang unit along with a Federal Bureau of Investigation SWAT team served a search warrant for guns and documents for 43 Oneida St., #3 at 6 a.m. Thursday.Phillip Preston Thompson, 25, of 43 Oneida St. #3, was arrested and charged with heroin trafficking over 28 grams; possession of a firearm without a firearm identification card (FID), subsequent offense; possession of a firearm without an FID card; possession of ammunition without an FID card; use of a firearm in a felony; possession with intent to distribute Class B cocaine; and possession of a class E drug, Clozapine, two counts; possession of a class E drug Sertraline; and possession of a class B drug, Subuoxone at 6 a.m. Thursday.Pierre Christmas, 25, of 43 Oneida St. #3, was arrested and charged with possession of a class E drug, four counts; at 6 a.m. ThursdayLynn District Court Judge James Wexler ordered Thompson held on $25,000 cash bail.According to police records, a search of the apartment turned up one fully loaded .38 caliber handgun, one baggie of heroin, one baggie of cocaine, one baggie of marijuana, one baggie containing “a variety of pills” and two jars of Inosital, which police described as a “diluting/cutting agent when mixed with either cocaine and/or heroin.”Thompson was sent to Essex County Jail and is due back in court on June 27.Matt Tempesta can be reached at [email protected].
