LYNN — Three Swampscott teenagers are accused of throwing eggs at a prostitute who turned out to be an undercover Lynn Police officer.
Jacob Charles Finlay, 18, of 57 Sampson Ave., Swampscott; Joseph Patsios, 18, of 130 Atlantic Ave., Swampscott; and Spencer Sam Webber, 18, of 79 Stetson Ave., Swampscott, were arrested and each charged with assault-and-battery with a dangerous weapon and being a minor in possession of alcohol in connection with the June 6 incident.
A Lynn District Court judge on Friday continued the teens’ cases to June 21 for arraignment.
Police reported they were conducting a so-called john law violation at Union and Pinkham streets June 6 using an undercover female officer as a decoy.
The undercover officer reported a vehicle drove by and the occupants yelled at her, police said. The vehicle reappeared a short time later, and something was thrown from the vehicle, but missed the officer. The vehicle then passed a third time and the undercover officer was able to see the license plate. She relayed the plate information back to an officer monitoring her position. The vehicle came back a fourth time, and the officer was struck with an egg.
“Before she realized it was back, she was struck with something,” Lynn Police Officer Edward Pettipas wrote in a report. “Lt. (Peter) Holey could hear her state that she had been hit and heard her grunt in pain.”
Officers reported the undercover officer was struck above her right knee. “There was visible redness to her right knee,” Pettipas wrote.
Police found the vehicle heading back towards the undercover officer and pulled it over. Officers reported finding a partially opened bottle of Ciroc alcohol in the back seat of the vehicle, and reported “there were shelled eggs everywhere.”
“They were resting on the door handles, on the storage compartments of the doors, at the driver’s feet and in the back seat,” Pettipas reported. Police also reported finding bags of marijuana.
“During the booking process the males seemed to think that this was funny and were smiling about it,” Pettipas reported.
