LYNN — Three Swampscott men who police said threw eggs at an undercover police officer and struck her pleaded not guilty to assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and alcohol charges Friday, and were ordered to return to District Court on Aug. 2.
Judge James Lamothe ordered pretrial hearings on that day for Joseph Patsios, 18, 130 Atlantic Ave., Jacob Finlay, 18, 57 Sampson Ave., and Spencer Webber, 79 Stetson Ave.
Police reports filed in court stated that the trio drove by Officer Kelly Aylward three times late in the evening on June 6 as Aylward posed as a prostitute in a police operation aimed at arresting men soliciting sex for payment.
The report stated the three loaded the Audi A6 Patsios was driving with eggs and threw at least one at Aylward as she walked along Union Street before striking her with an egg above the right knee, causing “visible redness.”
In addition to the assault charges, the three were arrested and charged with being minors in possession of alcohol. Officer Edward Pettipas’ report stated that police found a partially opened alcohol bottle on the car’s backseat and stated that officers who searched Finlay and Webber found marijuana in their possession.
