LYNN – A Marblehead native and Marine Corps veteran who launched a health care company in 2011 was to unveil his Democratic campaign for Congress in Lynn this morning.?I think voters are ready for a change,” Seth Moulton said Monday.Moulton has vowed to meet voters throughout 6th Congressional District communities from Saugus to Amesbury, and he planned to launch his campaign at the Lynn commuter rail station. He said he will travel to more than three dozen other cities and towns over the next 10 days.?I?m hitting the campaign trail bright and early,” he said. The 34-year-old Salem resident said Congressional inaction is the focus of his campaign, not U.S. Rep. John Tierney, who, in a statement Monday, said he “looks forward to debating the issues that matter in the 2014 campaign.”Moulton, a Harvard University graduate who earned dual advanced degrees at Harvard, said job creation, national infrastructure repair and “taking care of our veterans” are some of the top issues he will focus on during his campaign.?As a veteran, I didn?t really feel Congress had my back,” Moulton said.He joined the Marine Corps in 20002 and served four tours of duty in Iraq – 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2007 into 2008.He is the president and co-founder of Eastern Health Care Partners, a firm focused in part on obesity prevention.Moulton said 6th Congressional district voters “are frustrated with Congress,” including the “level of partisan greed.”?I?m really focusing on moving ahead,” he said. Now in his 17th year in office, Tierney, a Salem Democrat, won 48 percent of the district vote in 2012 to beat Wakefield Republican and former candidate for lieutenant governor, Richard Tisei. During a Monday interview, Tisei said he is “giving serious consideration” to another congressional run.?Over the past eight months, people have approached me and said I should run again,” Tisei said.Thor Jourgensen can be reached at [email protected].
