LYNN – A judge ordered a city man held without bail after he allegedly shot up his apartment following a family argument about a motorcycle.”(The uncle) brought the motorcycle to John’s Oil to get it washed and this is when (the defendant) came over and began arguing with him over who should take possession of the motorcycle,” according to a report by Lynn Police Officer James Daley.Adam DeAmelio, 32, of 727 Summer St. #1, was arrested and charged with discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, possession of ammunition without a Firearms Identification (FID) Card; possession of a firearm without an FID card; and assault with a dangerous weapon.Police responded at 6:18 p.m. Tuesday to the area of the Summer Street apartment on a report of a man firing a handgun out a second-floor window.Two witnesses told police they had seen three men arguing at John’s Oil gas station, according to reports. The witnesses said one of the men – later identified as DeAmelio – came outside 725 Summer St. with a silver handgun a few minutes later.”He was yelling something unrecognizable back toward John’s Oil then pointed the handgun in that direction and appeared to pull the trigger but nothing fired,” the witnesses reported to police.One of the witnesses told police a woman came and pushed DeAmelio back inside the building but he soon appeared at the building’s window. The witness told police DeAmelio disappeared from view and the witness heard three gunshots, police reported.Police went to the apartment and arrested DeAmelio at gunpoint. They also found a loaded handgun, live ammunition and “outward projecting bullet holes on the apartment front door,” according to reports.DeAmelio’s girlfriend told police that DeAmelio was arguing with his uncles over who should keep a motorcycle that belonged to Adam DeAmelio’s father. But she denied seeing a gun that day. The alleged victim, an uncle, told police DeAmelio did not point a gun at him.But prosecutors requested DeAmelio be held without bail at his arraignment in Lynn District Court Wednesday afternoon, according to court documents.Judge Stephen Abany granted the request, ordering DeAmelio to return to court Friday.Cyrus Moulton can be reached at [email protected].
