July 22, 2013 by Thor Jourgensen

Police on Monday identified the 24-year-old local man killed in a Sunday morning accident and named the 60-year-old woman struck and killed by a car Sunday evening on Boston Street.
Sonedis Cabral was killed in a single accident only yards away from his 44 O?Callaghan Way home at 5 a.m. Sunday in a single-car accident that Lt. Christopher Kelly said remains under investigation.
?Speed looks like it was a factor, but that?s still under investigation,” Kelly said.
Kelly said the accident occurred at 68 O?Callaghan Way. No passengers were in the 2000 Acura with Cabral, said Kelly.
He identified Kathleen McPartland, 25 Magner Road, as the woman struck and killed by a minivan backing out of parking space in a lot at Boston and Hamilton streets. McPartland was pushing an 18-month-old girl in a stroller when she was struck.
Kelly identified McPartland as the child?s great-aunt and said McPartland?s death remains under investigation. The Daily Item staff is working on the story and will have a full report in Tuesday?s edition of The Daily Item/Itemlive.com.
