For runners at the latest installment of the Lynn Woods summer cross country races on Wednesday, it was a night of going up and down hills … sometimes more than once.The hills of Steel Tower and Stone Tower both got visits from runners on a day that felt just a bit less stifling, weather-wise, than last week and its heat wave.In the short race, a 2.49-mile course up Steel Tower Hill via the Goat Path, Caleb Evanter of Marblehead won in 15:27, followed by Rick Provost of Beverly (16:06) and Aaron Gautreau of North Reading (17:39). Sarah Bitterman of Marblehead was the top female finisher (17:58, 6th place).In the long race, the Triple Towers course, Chris Smith of Woburn won in 32:56, followed by two finishers one second apart: Michael Smith of Beverly (34:07) and Mike Flaherty of Lynn (34:08). The top female finishers, Katie Cooper of Marblehead (37:06) and Katia Bertoldi of Somerville (37:15), finished 11th and 12th overall, respectively.The top finishers in the Kids Race (1.59 miles) were Luke Chase, Reading, 10:54; Matthew Brown, Nahant, 12:46; and Meghan Carney of Peabody, 13:16. The top Lynn finisher was Katherine Clancy, fourth place, 13:36.All six Peewee Quarter Mile finishers came from Lynn: winner Juan Imul (0:55), Francisco Quinillos (1:00), Albert Imul (1:20), Fernando Quinillos (1:25), Ben Bochnak (1:40) and Will Bochnak (1:56).
