LYNN – A city man arrested in connection with an alleged sexual assault on Lynn Common was committed for a mental-health evaluation Tuesday after court officials said the man remained incoherent several days after causing a scene in downtown Lynn.”At this time (the defendant) was blowing (the alleged victim) kisses and yelling something unintelligible,” Lynn Police Officer Thomas Morley wrote in a report. “(She) went on to inform Captain (William) Borders that the above mentioned male party had touched her breast and was ?humping her leg’ this past Sunday on the Commons.”Christopher Hederson, 46, of 50 Andrews St. #212, was arrested and charged with indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or over; at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday.Hederson was arraigned in lock-up at Lynn District Court Tuesday afternoon but a bail argument was postponed because the defendant was incoherent, according to the court docket.Police responded to Washington and Liberty streets at 1:28 p.m. last Thursday after an officer requested help with a man “yelling and screaming threatening to fight anyone in earshot,” Morley reported.Police said the man, identified as Hederson, was unable to answer any questions and becoming increasingly dangerous, requiring he be handcuffed.”While handcuffed, Hederson was yelling about the Boston Red Sox, Ozzy Osbourne and several other subjects,” police reported. “It was becoming very clear that Hederson was in need of mental-health assistance.A woman who had approached police before the outburst told officers she had been sleeping on the common the previous Sunday afternoon and woke up to find Hederson’s hand on her breast. She reported that she shooed him away and started to fall asleep again.”(She) next heard ?are you awake,'” police reported. “(She) opened her eyes and observed Hederson lying down next to her.”The alleged victim said Hederson continued to try to sexually assault her, police reported.The woman said Hederson has told her daily since that alleged incident that he loves her and tries to get her to come home with him, according to the report. She told officers she approached the officer on foot patrol because she was sick of it.Police reported bringing Hederson to Union Hospital for evaluation and seeking a warrant for his arrest on a charge of indecent assault and battery.Hederson was scheduled to be arraigned on that charge Tuesday. But a doctor said the defendant was incoherent and couldn’t communicate with a lawyer, according to court documents.Lynn District Court Judge James LaMothe ordered Hederson committed for up to 20 days for additional evaluation, according to court documents.
