LYNN – The North Shore Navigators could never shake the raindrops the entire season, it seems. Friday, they were rained out of their final home game, which was to be played against the Seacoast Mavericks. The Navs still have one more game left, tonight (7:05) at Nashua against the Silver Knights. If they win it, it could help them immeasurably. That’s because of how the playoffs shape up. As of Friday night, the Navigators were in third place, a half-game up on the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide. If that stays the same, they can spend a nice weekend up in Nashua, because Holman Stadium is the site of the play-in game between the third-place and sixth-place team (as of now, the Brockton Rox). That game will take place Sunday at 3 p.m. The winner begins the best-of-three series against Nashua – the second-place team – Sunday night at 7. Game 2 will be at Fraser Field and the third one, if necessary, will be back in Nashua. However, should the Navs slip into fourth, they would repeat the same scenario, but they’d be going to Martha’s Vineyard to play the fifth-place team (as of now either the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide or Pittsfield Suns, both of whom are only a half game behind the Navs), also at 3 Sunday. The winner would then play the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks at 7 that night, and the same schedule would commence. All games are nine innings.
