LYNN — An emergency medical helicopter transported a man to a Boston hospital shortly after 4 p.m. Friday, after police said the man jumped from a fourth-floor window of the Greater Lynn YMCA.
Police Lt. James Shorten told The Item that an adult male resident of the Y who had recently returned from a mental health crisis facility, jumped from a window. He did not comment on the severity of the man’s injuries. Shorten said he believes the man was taken by helicopter to Mass. General Hospital. He did not disclose the identity of the man.
District Fire Chief John Barry said department emergency medical workers transported the man to the field on the Washington Street side of North Shore Community College where the helicopter was waiting.
